Windsurfing: Blithfield Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Decent lines of chop Air Temperature: 12 Sea Temperature: Icy Weather: Sun / cloud Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Another deceptively windy NW day at Blithfield. Rigged 5.8 which was too
much at first so came in and rigged 5.3. However the wind appeared to
moderate a little and I went back out on 5.8 for a really good session.
Worked on chop hops and windy gybing. Noticed that I was sheeting in when
trying to hop - no doubt this was contributing to reluctance of board to
release and the nose diving once in the air. Hard to break the habit
though. Gybing improved by coming forward as the board bears away. Before,
I was leaning back and killing the power in the sail. More improvement
needed, particularly in chop.
Water is still desperately icy, most unpleasant swimming after kit after
bailing out. Great session though.
